Looking for a unique, delicious dessert to bring to your Christmas or holiday gathering? Why not try Oreo balls?
Once you create this dessert, it will be your staple at every work or family party because others will ask you to make them it every time. It?s that good!
Dipped in molten chocolate, these cookie desserts are easy to make and will impress everyone. Here is what you will need to get started:
1 package of Oreos
1 8 oz block of cream cheese
1 package of chocolate almond bark
1 gallon freezer bag
Hand mixer
Melon scoop
Wax paper
Two pans, 1 larger than the other
Mixing bowl
To begin, empty the Oreos into the plastic bag. Mash them into small pieces and dump the pieces into a large mixing bowl. Remove the cream cheese from the foil package. Soften the cream cheese in the microwave for about 55 seconds. Dump the cream cheese into the mixing bowl. Mix the cream cheese and Oreo pieces together until smooth. Put the bowl in the refrigerator and let the mixture cool for about an hour.
After the mixture has cooled, pull it from the refrigerator and make sure it is no longer sticky. Using a melon scoop, roll the Oreo and cream cheese mixture into balls.
While rolling the balls, begin melting the chocolate almond bark. To keep the chocolate from tasting burned, place the larger pan on the burner and fill it with water. Put the smaller pan inside the larger pan atop the warm water. This way the chocolate will not get too hot and will not taste burned.
Once the almond bark is melted, covering the balls with the chocolate. Scoop them from the pan with a fork and place them on the wax paper to cool. Once the chocolate has hardened the Oreo balls can be served warm or refrigerated for a cooler taste.
Enjoy!
